intergenerational dialogue within our LGBTQIA+/Queer community
We seek to combat and address the rifts that have caused generational separations within the LGBTQIA community. These rifts have too often led to relying on stereotypes and assumptions about other generations, while dismissing the real experiences, contributions, and connections, furthering separation.
We aim to collaborate and connect as we learn to work across generations, thus enhancing our community viability so vital for our community-as- a whole in these times of crisis. There are numerous barriers to navigating community cooperation, including limited shared spaces and resources, evolving terminology and identities, an absence of role models for younger LGBTQ+ individuals, and older adults feeling aged out of communities.
